Get yourself organised with weighing scales, flour, butter, sugar, apples, mincemeat and cinnamon
Get yourself organised with weighing scales, flour, butter, sugar, apples, mincemeat and cinnamon

Depending how many people you are cooking for, it’s one of flour and half of butter. So 200 grams of flour and half that of butter is 100 grams…
The Rubbing In Method is the only way to make a crumble

Keep going – there’s no machine out there that can do this! Keep it crumbly!
Weigh out 100 grams of sugar (or you can have a bit less if you are watching your weight)
Mix that in lightly with the crumble mixture
Chop the apples – TAKE CARE – A&E is always busy at Christmas!
Chopping apples – don’t waste any good bits
Put the apples in a dish and you need a tiny amount of water at the bottom of the dish
Now a bit of mincemeat – not too much just a bit here and there…
See what I mean…
Lightly place the crumble mixture on top of the apples and mincemeat
Shave off a bit of cinnamon to give an exotic flavour to your crumble topping

Ready to go in the oven on a medium heat (about 180 degrees for about half an hour)
You get to know when it’s ready by the lovely smell and a slightly brown topping with a bit of apple oozing out….
That looks lovely!
Showing off!
Now for the test! Sod everyone else!
THUMBS UP!
